Dozens Killed In Israeli Airstrike On Refugee Camp

Rafah: The New Focus in the Gaza War

Dozens Killed in Israeli Airstrike on Refugee Camp

At least 45 people, including women and children, were killed in an Israeli air strike on a camp for displaced Palestinians in the southern Gaza city of Rafah on Sunday. The attack has sparked a global outcry, with many condemning Israel's use of disproportionate force.

The Israeli military said it was fighting in neighborhoods near the heart of the city of Rafah, apparently in an attempt to root out Hamas militants. However, witnesses say that many of the victims of the airstrike were civilians who had fled their homes to seek shelter in the camp.

The attack on Rafah has raised fears that the conflict in Gaza is escalating, with both sides now targeting civilian areas. The United Nations has called for an immediate ceasefire, but neither Israel nor Hamas has shown any willingness to negotiate.

As the fighting continues, the people of Rafah are caught in the middle. They are living in fear of further Israeli assaults, and they have little hope of being able to return to their homes anytime soon.
